what? no that's ridiculous. and thinking liek this only inforces such silly ideas. No, the "thug" image is a cultural trait which has developed specifically by African Americans and is not originally seen in any other environment. To cope with living in a country supposedly based on freedom yet denies rights to many blacks, many black developed their own form of rebellion as a sign of outrage and defiance that they would live life their own way outside of the rules that put them down. "white males" don't want all the African Americans in jails for any reasons, that's racist to whites to think that. Of coruse some whites may want blacks in jail, but some blacks may want asians put away, or asians watn whites put away or latinos want blacks away or whatever...racism applies to all. however in general, jail serves no use to the "whites" as a holding cage.

No, I don't. The only motivation for corporate America is profit, because our economy is a capitalist one. The motivation for any for-profit business is to make a profit. This is Econ 101.

What do you mean by created churned them out on production lines complete with baggy pants and gang colours included.Of course corporate white America didn't do this anyone who is a gangsta or a thug is that either by choice or peer pressure.By the way I don't consider them to be heroes even if they have had chart rap hits or whatever.
-
No, not at all. It took me a while to even understand what you were asking. Why would "white male owned corporate America" do this? I think that people end up in jail because they deserve it,...regardless of race.
-
Uh, ya, that's it????? What a ridiculous statement. Blame the other guy all the time......get real.
-
Is that question in some kind of code?
-
Probably not, but they gladly provide the attire for whoever buys it.
-
see. that's why nothing ever changes and no progress can be made. people always need a scapegoat...

There is a thug culture in EVERY race and has been around since, well, forever. Unfortunately, the thug steotype is glorfied in the hip-hop idea black culture (and I would have to say thats a minority), but not made by them. Alot of the media/news that people take in is not from a minorities perspective but someone who barely has the facts or sees it from their eyes, generally someone white. It seems like things seem to be spun in the worst way possible.Look at the blacks in the 80's (crack frenzy) seemed as if they were on drugs much more than whites when infact it was the whites who were buying much more than many blacks. Other examples would be when you see blacks cussing, having sex, or taking drugs twice as much or even resisting arrest much more than other races. Or how BET glorfies gansta culture but isnt run by a black man. I dont feel like whites created the idea, but "they" (whoever they may be) are enforcing it.But whoever falls for that crap shouldnt blame others, you are in charge of your own actions, but you will have to admit that it does have an effect on how that group of people see themselves.

Naah. They're not *nearly* that creative! ;-)

first and foremost the motivation was profit. Profit for the large recording companies, advertising and public relations firms and the increasingly private corrections industry. All predominantly owned by financially privileged private investors who: 1 have the benefit of legacy wealth derived from past discrimination as land and property expropriated from disadvantaged minorities by outright theft and or mob violence as "upstanding concerned White neighbors" banding together as the Klu-Klux Klan threatened, beat, drove off, or killed the darker skinned minoroties then widely viewed as inferior, corrupt, degenerate, and naturally predisposed to- ward criminality. This abandoned property accum- mulated in the hands of violent perpetraters and provided the seed money for many of the financial empires we known today. 2 Are consumed by an insatiable appatite for wealth and a historical fetishist conviction held dear to the hearts of the landed gentry of the inherent superiority of the Anglo-Saxon cultural legacy of the higher, and as as we have seen, more propert- ied upper socio-economic classes whose existence and sustainability required the institutionaliza- tion of race and class discrimination of a low sort practiced through low means practiced overtly and covertly. I think the creation of the Gangsta thug as a cultural phenomenon is part of the race and class war of the illegitimately privileged against those they seelk to economically subjugate and politically disempower.

no its that simply
-
No. Even if they did, it wasn't hard to get them to do it.

That is one of the most insane conspiracy theories I have heard. The reason we have the gangsta thug archetype being foisted upon us is IT MAKES MONEY. Corporate America would drop it like a hotcake if it did not make money. If I remember correctly it started in a black subculture with underground records being released... then the big record labels saw how to make TONS of money. I do not remember if it was an underground movie being released or it starting with one major film studio producing a movie based on this budding archetype but that film brought in bucks so there were more It is a damaging archetype. It foists negative stereotypes on black people and encourages impressionable youth of ALL ethnicities to go into this sort of activity... it is "cool." It is not a conspiracy. It is done out of GREED.

gotta blame somebody ,huh? thugs create themselves....so does a gangster....so does a black ,white , male..you cannot BLAME YOU, on others, JUST YOURSELF..:) there are many an unfortunate black and white males/females, that do not become thugs, gangsters, criminal, uncivil members of society....
