Regardless of the brand you will end up having one big network or a big conflict between the networks if they are both configured using the default settings. Provided that you use your own settings which will more than likely be different from your neighbor, you shouldnt have a problem keeping both networks separate. There is also restrictions that you can put on your network making yourself visable and accessible to only certain users via the mac address on the wireless card itself.

you could also set a password for connection to your network. a secure network is better for you than an open one

If both routers are used as shipped, yes. To set your router up right, sign in to it's set-up screen by entering the following IP address into the browser's address line: "192.168.1.1" From there, you want to do a couple of things; change the wireless channel to any channel BUT the default (usually ch. 6). Then choose to encrypt your network and router password. After each change is made, save those settings before going to the next item. Finally, be sure to go the router mfg's. web site and check to see if there are more recent firmware upgrades available (there often are!). If there are, choose to install them. Also remember that router placement within the home can greatly affect the outer parameters of your wifi network; putting a chimney between your router and your neighbors can be very helpful!
