what do you mean by both? but yes i believe in both but if one had to come first, God
-
Both God created a world in which all is self sufficient. From the wide open space to the tiniest organism.
-
I believe in God and I believe in science, (except for the kind that denies God or puts Him and His Word down: Big Bang, Darwinism, The "Soup" Theory, etc.) but if I had to only pick one, it would definitly be God. Thank you and God bless you!
-
both
-
Anything that at the base denies the right to ask questions is evil. So it depends what god you speak of. Science has nothing to hide if you look hard enough.
-
Science. And humanity.
-
both
-
Both. Why couldn't God have come up with evolution? It's an elegant (and intelligent) solution to a sticky problem.
-
Both common sense and faith are good though non compatible.
-
Science, with a little eastern philosophy (spirituality) thrown in. I take the science approach. In addition, principles from Taoism help me connect with nature, Buddhism with the temporary nature of life, and Hinduism connects me to the roots of yoga. I don't go for the western concept of god.
-
god isnt real
-
Science.. easily
-
Science has nothing to say about god. It's impossible really - science deals with the natural world and god is reputed to be supernatural - outside the natural world. A majority of scientists maintain a faith in their god or gods. 'Faith' and theology are just in a different realm to the sciences. Personally, I don't believe there's a god or gods. They're man made. So when it comes to answering questions about me, life, the universe and so on - I'd go with the scientific explanations...
-
easy: God...sure, some of the scientific explanations make sense but sometimes they are too....general...no, they just go against what i believe in
-
Yes they are we believe that electricity runs through wires but we cannot see it. It takes faith to believe that but science or experimentation proves it.
-
Yes, many people believe in science.
-
Usually. But I think they can become incompatible if your commitment to one is fundamentalist. This is because a commited faith is unwaivering, despite contradicting evidence. And commited science means you cant claim to take things in faith, with little or no evidence. I think its possible for humans to tread a path between them.
-
i want to say god but im gonna say science becuz its not possible for him not to have a beginin or an end. he has to atleast have a beginin becuz he cant have the universe created and say im been here. everything has to have a beginin. plus the reason y priest wats us to believe in him is becuz he wants us to stay out of trouble from the law i mean think about it thou shalt not kill/murder. thou shalt not steal/theif. thous shalt not convent thy neighboor's wife/cheatin. its all about the law

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Albert Einstein
-
If you believe in science, you have faith in science. Therefore, yes. Faith and science can be considered compatible.
-
Yes, as long as you are NOT an extremist. As a co-author of "The Fundamental Laws of Chaos Dynamics" ... as part of our thesis for our math and physics degrees ... we used equations to prove beyond a doubt that there was no such thing as true chaos, and that there was aboslutely always some sort of order. When some people think there is chaos, it is just their inability to readily recognize the patterns and the order. Although this does not PROVE that there is a God, it does compatibly go along with the possibility that the universe may have been designed and created by a God, rather than spontaneously and randomly just happening accidentally by itself.
-
science
-
Both.
-
science.... it makes fucking sense!
-
God ... gives me help and hope in things i cant understand
-
I have no problem with understanding both.
-
Both
-
Both ;)
-
IMO, absolutely.
-
Yes, as long as neitheir beliefs are extreme, and one has an open mind about their surroundings. :)
-
Yes. There is god. His world is big. Science just have proved a small part of the world.
-
science, and reality
-
Science has been doing a good job explaining the universe for me so far. Any unknowns out there I could just hope that science would figure out in the future as the pieces are put together even more, rather than just attributing it all to God.
-
Personally, I've come to work my religious beliefs around scientific fact and vice versa. So both.
-
God is science. You cannot have one without the other. Time after time in the Bible there are scientific truths spoke of long before we had the resources to know. And here in 2008, we have seen the truth of it.
-
Both. Science as the method to understand God's creation.
-
Both. Creation Science makes more sense than evolution.
-
I call my theory of creation, The Big Banger. It is that God and his angels were having a barbeque (Sun), and an undercooked sausage exploded. Scattering peices of sausage meat everywhere. One of these pieces is the universe we live in. This would mean that there are other universes.
-
Both, without a doubt.
-
Science. Science is the search for knowledge. God is giving up and accepting ignorance.
-
Science
-
I've not been able to make up my mind about that, so for now I'm going to say both
-
Science leads to God. We are all created from energy. And energy can't be existed by itself as been proven by science. So, Someone should have created it.
-
God. science, really when you look at it, doesn't make since and you cant have both. science says something always has to come from something but the big bang theory says something came from nothing.??????????????that sure will mess with your mind.
-
Science is the TRUTH
-
Science. and only science.
-
I dont know... God is very simple... Science is Very complex... Yet...its pretty much the same thing. But Does science teach you about yourself? Science is physical matter... God is spiritual.
-
God speaks of science. As does science of God. Science ought always to be objective. Truly objective science, that kind that does not assume evolution or even creationism is true, naturally speaks of the order of the universe. Order cannot be wrought by chaos.
-
Both.
-
Of course both.
-
science for me.
-
both. I like the clockwork theory: God is the Clockmaker Earth is the Clock God made the clock, and winds it up on occasion. Most of the time, though, the clock is just left to tick away by itself.
-
Both, If God didnt want us to know about science, He wouldn't have made us so smart.
-
Science, science, science.
-
Gods change from one generation to another. I'll take science. Scientific knowledge also changes, but there is a clear path from what we knew yesterday to what we know today. Gods and reeligions come and go at random, with no rhyme or reason. Look at the questions here on AB for example. People wander about blindly, telling one another what they "believe," with no rational component. They claim to believe in this god or that, but they refuse to use the very abilities their god has given them: eyes, ears, and brain. What kind of god would give them the capacity for rational thought and then tell them to disregard it and rely on "faith" instead? No offense, but believers are lamebrains.
-
I wish I knew the answer to your question.
-
God's come and go, live and die, science is simply the observation and interpetation of what we see in a manner devoid of superstitions and belief's it reveals nature as it is not as others wish it to be .. . Facts equals Truth Science is the seeking of those Facts so Science for me ... . ~Nemo~
