I still believe. Santa Claus (to me) is the SPIRIT of giving, and I will always believe in that.
-
Now that I have been elevated to Santa Claus status, My beliefs have been renewed and I love the role.
-
Four. When my parents told me the truth, I was four years old. I remember sitting in "Santa's" lap at preschool and asking for a yellow toy telephone. Sure enough on Christmas morning at my grandmother's house, I unwrapped a toy yellow telephone, after having been told that Santa wasn't real. I began to rub the toy phone in my parents face until they asked me one simple question. "Who else did you tell that you wanted a yellow telephone?" I never believed in him again. To this day, I am thankful for their honesty. I have told my kids the truth about Santa Clause since they were born.

I think I was 8 or 9, I cannot remember. Even once I found out, I still believed. In a way, I still kinda do. Afterall someone gets us through these holidays.
-
i think i was about 9,lol im not sure how but someone finally told me

Santa Claus brought my family wonderful things when I was growing up. Our Christmas tree was extra beautiful and always filled with presents under it. After Santa tumbled down our chimney, there were bunches more presents by morning. Daddy was older than Mother, and somehow she was able to do everything on her own. She was an incredible Santa Claus! She decorated inside and outside the house, shopped for everything and wrapped the gifts. Then she made all the stuff for Christmas dinner too. All before internet shopping or microwaves! While Christmas stopped being special when I was 16 and Daddy died, I was 21 before I stopped believing in Santa Claus. That's when Mother died. She was the best Santa, and I always believed she would wow me and Daddy, my sister and her family each and every year!
-
I don't think I was ever told that he actually exists. At the tender age of 3 and 4 while most kids found it cool to sit on the big white man's lap, I thought it was weird. But at home around Christmastime, myself, my sister, and my brother would raid our parents' room while they weren't home until we found the toys and we'd admire them while still in their designated packages. Did I ever REALLY believe Santa Claus existed...?
-
Are you serious?!?!?
-
Whatcha mean stopped? I'm just a bit PO'd at the guy for not bringing me my divorce (like I asked for).
-
A school teacher told myself and my classmates that Father Christmas didn't exist when I was four. I was mortified, how could this be true? My mum eventually persuaded me that the teacher was wrong and didn't know what she was talking about and so then I regained my belief in Santa probably until about the age of seven/eight.

when i was like 9. i realized he wasnt real at like 5 but i still wanted to believe

I think I was about 11, because I found the presents we were being given in our parents' wardrobe. my elder daughter was three. she was really smart. She said to me: if Santa Claus is real, how come there are four of him in Liverpool? Now, I wasn't going to lie to her, so I told her that these were just representatives of SC, because the real one, who had been a bishop in turkey, had died for his faith a long time ago. She accepted that happily, and thought it was sharp to have a secret from other kids her age. My second daughter picked it up early from her. One day my mother said to her: if you are not good, SC won't bring you any presents. she retorted: hah! we don't believe in SC. my mother was horrified and said: what are you teaching these kids? I said: the truth. I believe that if a child asks, they get told. I don't want them growing up believing a lie, then ask themselves what other lies did mum tell me? They still had happy christmases, filled with excitement and joy.

I was not allowed to believe in any of the holiday jolly folks...no easter bunny, santa, tooth fairy etc..

What!? Are you saying HE'S NOT REAL?!?!?! I don't remember ever actually believing that there was an actual person named Santa Claus that brought presents, and flew a sleigh. I always knew that the gifts were from my parents. I remember having fun leaving out cookies for santa, and carrots for the reindeer, but I never really thought he would actually come and eat them! I just thought it was an entertaining tradition. I never wanted to sit on the fake santa's lap at the mall. I never wrote a letter to santa. I never "found out" that santa wasn't real. I don't think my parents ever played it up as something that was true. I do like the idea of Santa as the spirit of giving, that I believe in.
-
I don't remember specifically but I think it was around 9 years old when my sisters were born. I remember helping assemble thier toys on Christmas eve after they went to sleep.
-
WHAT???!??!?!?

-
I never remember believing in in Santa Claus.
-
24.... what?
-
I never believed in Santa Claus, my mother never told me about him, or the easter bunny, or the tooth fairy... Instead she told me about the real St. Nick... The one from Turkey, who would stick candy into people's shoes that were sitting on the front stoop while they slept.
-
I think eight or nine and it crushed me
-
I was about 5 and I was devastated...:( It wasn't until years and years later that I realized he really DOES exist. :)

He's not real?

-
I was in fifth or sixth grade, probably nine or ten years old.
-
HE'S NOT REAL???? damn, musta missed that memo... :P seriously though, I was about 7
-
I don't remember how old I was, but I know I was younger than I should have been. And the reason I "realised" he wasn't real was because me and my sister snuck into my parents closet and found Christmas presents. My idiotic parents, who knew we found them, left them out as our gifts from Santa!
-
MY brother told me when I was 7,but I did not listen to him and keept on thinking he was real.

-
my mom told me and i saw lipstick on a half eatin cookies
-
I'm not sure. I don't think I ever really believed in him. I kind of always knew it was my moms signature saying "Santa" on the presents.
-
HE'S NOT REAL? Who LIED to YOU about that one? ;-) . . . . . . . . Actually, probably about 7 or 8. Think I caught on that those tags on the presents from Santa, and Santa's note back to us, were written in my mom or dad's handwriting. They tried to pass it off as he dictated it to them (they always "helped" him), while he was putting the presents out. We kept it going, though... Any present "from Santa" we were allowed to open before Mom and Dad got up. Any from THEM, we had to leave until they did. Those presents, of course, became fewer and fewer as we got older and our presents got more and more expensive. Ah, I miss those old days when it was easier to believe in a fat man in a red suit that could come down a chimney, even if we didn't have one! ;-)
-
WHAT?????
-
I peeked under my bedroom door .. after I heard my dad stub his toe and say Damn !!! soooo Disappointing LOL
-
42 My 2 cents.
-
42 My 2 cents.
-
Before Pre-K. Everyone said I missed out but I don't believe that.... I still got presents.
-
I actually didn't know much about Santa until I came to America at age 10. And then a year later, I found out that he's not "real".
-
whats you talking about willis???????
-
He's not? Then who's that fat guy in he red suit coming down the chimney every Christmas to leave all that stuff under my tree? ho ho ho
-
I haven't heard yet...I haven't even heard that he WAS real! ^.^
-
I was like seven. Depressing day.
-
That phony tale was never told in our house. Our parents were very much against it; and so they made sure we understood that the tale was crafted long, long ago. They informed us that everything bought in our house--whether it was food, cloth, toys or whatever--it was them and only them through much sacrifice who bought it.
-
I was seven years old when I stopped believing.
-
ummm about 9-10 i think lol xx hugs xx
-
Hey! There is a Santa Ok. He comes every year at Christmas with his bag of goodies. Keep on asking such questions and he will not give you any presents this year.
-
He's not real ???!!! lol joking
-
I never believed in him, and few of the kids I knew when I was one myself did, so it's probably something with the culture that doesn't leave much space for Santa Claus
-
I don't think I ever really believed because we opened our presents on Christmas eve which didn't really fall in with the Santa story.
-
I was like ten before my mum told me but i think that secretely i already knew... even when she told me though I wasn't really too bothered or upset!
-
I hate to admit that I was in 4th grade (9 years old) when the teacher asked the class if there was anyone in the class who believed in Santa and I raised my hand. The whole class uproared. I was so embarassed. Still a romanticist and love Christmas books especially pop-up ones!
-
I figured it out when I was about 6. I've always thought logically. Thats why I stopped believing in Christianity around the same age. I hated going to church and religion classes. I thought it was stupid.
-
I,m 33 and I still have hope. LOL
-
"quit believing"? Why would someone stop believing? ...What are you trying to say?
-
I just saw him last year with my mommy!
-
I never believed in santa
-
I never belived in him. Apparently when I was little the idea of a man climbing into my room scared me, so my mum told me the truth from a young age!
-
Believe whatever you want but i know who's getting coal and who's getting presents this year. :p

-
THERE'S NO SANTA!?!?!?!?!
-
I don't remember when, but I do know I didn't like being lied too...I also remember I had to be santa for my brothers and sisters at a very young age because of my parents marriage troubles....I think at 16 I stayed up all night before christmas putting 2 bigwheels together and finishing a bike someone had started...it would have been a lot easier to let them know it was from mom and dad, it might have even helped our situtation if they got the credit.
-
Been to long ago to remember...But I do know that now, I am Santa.
-
I never believed in him. Since we didn't celebrate Christmas, there was no reason to be told he exists. My parents did tell us that some kids at school beleive in Santa Clause so don't go around telling everyone that he doesn't exist.
-
Some people quit believing in Santa? Guess those people have NO kids or grandkids. ;-)
-
What! What do you mean there is no Santa! I'll never stop believing in Miracles.
-
I don't think I ever did. With older siblings, they can't wait to tell you anything that will make your life miserable. lol
-
I found out Santa wasn't real or more so that my parents were responsible for the gifts under the tree around 10 years old. As a kid that fear of being naughty or nice and the relative bearing it had on the gifts you may receive only made sense that parents were behind that myth. But many Christmases later, Santa still plays a large role in generating and sustaining a special spirit of giving and sharing of family traditions that I will always believe in.
-
Who says I have? I still pray to him every night
-
I never stopped believing in Santa. Saint Nicholas was a real person who did good for people and his spirit will always be alive, just like the spirit of Christ is alive, and although we cannot see him, he comes to bring cheer to everyone. When my daughter was growing up and she asked me if Santa was real, I told her the story of Saint Nicholas. I told her how the tradition came about to honor his spirit and as long as she believed, he would never quit coming. She is 40 years old and we still have presents from Santa each year. http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pageID=38
-
I still believe in santa, the north pole really exists HO HO HO.
-
What do you mean doubt the existence of Santa Claus? Please, please, don't tell me he ain't real...and right before Christmas...Man, you are cruel indeed and will burn in the South Pole for all eternity for doing this to me!
-
At 8 I got very confused because my mom wrapped the "santa" presents with the same wrapping paper as "from mom". At 10 I gave up.
-
I was about 7, when I woke up to go to the bathroom and caught my Mom, wrapping my toys.
-
Though I get all the gifts for my kids and they know about it but we still believe in the spirit of Santa Clause!
-
I'm 2008 years old and have no suspicion still about the existence of the saints! prof.mes-solzhenitsyn08
-
I was eight at the time. I found out when some older kids on my school bus broke the news to me. I guess a kid's gotta find out some time! lol
