On the one hand, from a very practical viewpoint, since she’s the one who’s going to be wearing the ring for the rest of her life, so I’d like to take her to the jewelry store and let her pick it out. I want a ring that will be comfortable for her to wear, and is beautiful in her eyes. On the other hand, I’m a very romantic man, and rather favor the candlelit dinner with me kneeling by her chair with the ring saying, “Will you marry me?” This is a purely hypothetical question at this point, as I don’t believe she’s ready for such a major step, but I’d like to get as many considered opinions as possible before I actually take the leap.

hells bells my friend, pick it out yourself and she will be happier that way. there has been an increasing trend of going together to pick a ring, but part of the fun is picking one yourself, and then giving it to her at the most unexpected time. look at the type of rings she wears now, and you will know what to do. best of luck to you

Personally I would like you to pick the ring yourself, it would mean more that way. That way she would be wearing something that you chose, so something special to you. Something you have taken time to look for yourself. Why go and look at a ring together, she might be abit scared about whether to say if she likes it or not. She might really like a ring but not say incase she thinks it is too expensive or something.
