    Mince pies are delicious, though I don't know why they're called mince pies when they contain no mince. Probably a ye olde england thingy.

    Back in the midwest it was Pumpkin -- hardly anyone ate minced meat, it was "exotic." (This from people who had never seen an avocado!) That said, I've found the perfect alternative to Pumpkin if you start to burn out on it between Thanksgiving and Christmas..
