A nice, 32.1 degree bottle of IBC. All other root beer is a distant second.
-
Homemade rootbeer. Mmmm...
-
I enjoy Barg's rootbeer.
-
ibc [independant brewing company] or A&W
-
Hires or A & W
-
I am not a big fan of root beer. It tastes almost "soapy". When I did drink soda I like the "cream" flavor.
-
A&W, Barq's are the ones I've tried.
-
Stewart's. However, if I'm going to pick up root beer with my lunch, I pick up a can of Barq's, so that if I bring it back to the office, no one will think it's beer. With the Stewart's bottles, I always get people saying walking by doing double takes when they see the bottle sitting there. (And, most of the time, I do not finish the beverage I have with my lunch, that is why this is a concern.)

An IBC Root Beer Float yummm!

Boylan's. They use cane sugar in their sodas instead of corn syrup. I love their Ginger Ale too.

I'm going to answer my own question. My favorite root beer is Henry Weinhard's. It's the only one that I've found that is made with sassafras extract. Everyone else uses artificial flavoring. For those of you who don't know, all root beers were once made with sassafrass, but it was outlawed in the '60s because it was a carcinogen. The extract is not, but it is rather expensive to produce, so most companies changed their recipe around that time. That's probably why Dad always talks about how different A&W tastes from when he was a kid...

IBC

hires

Sprecher is my favorite, but I generally prefer cream soda if it's available.
-
Mug
-
Sarsaparilla would be my first choice.
-
I like Root Beer. It is hard to find her in Puerto Rico. The diet one is even harder to find. I used to like Barq's when I was living in the USA. The only one I have seen here that is hard to find is A&W. I can't drink it these days because I now have diabetes.
-
My favorite root beer is/was I.B.C. Not sure if they still make it or not.
-
I love root beer , but I love birch beer even more. I think Henry Weinhard Premium Draft and Bulldog Handcrafted Root Beer are the best. I found those through the site below. I always try to find root beer made with real cane sugar now and the taste difference is amazing! For the best site on root beers, including reviews of just about every root beer you can ever imagine, Try visiting Anthony's Root Beer Barrel. http://rootbeerbarrel.com/

Hires
-
Boylan’s Natural Root Beer made with real cane sugar is the best!
-
Without any doubt Hires Root Beer. Later A& W.
-
Oh yeah, I love them both. I'm not sure I have a favorite brand, just a bunch that I love.
-
I like Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. For Root Beer, my actual favorite is Diet Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer (they also make it with sugar). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Dutch_Birch_Beer For actual Root Beer, I like Stewarts (again, diet for me).
-
I don't like any kind of root beer, but I do like cream soda. My favorite is I.B.C.
-
A LOT of folks confuse "Root Beer" with "Birch Beer". Here in southeastern Pennsylvania, we have quite a few: Mom's Dad's Pennsylvania Dutch Hank's Stewart's I prefer Hank's. Years ago there was a pretty good tasting root beer: "Hire's". I don't even know if it's still available, but it was pretty good! However, there are a few farms "in the sticks" about an hour or so northwest of Philadelphia, which make their own REAL, homemade root beer! NOTHING compares with the homemade stuff! Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Sources: Because you asked. A few sips down "Memory Lane". "THE University of Hard Knocks" Also known as ("a/k/a") "life's valuable lessons"

I like Barqs. However, there was this one time when my parents actually bought a real keg of root beer. That was the best root beer I've ever had.
-
I would have to go with either Dad's or Barq's - However i am finding it hard to find Barq's now... have they stopped making it?
-
IBC It's the best:)
-
MUG is pretty good.
-
A&W is h best.
-
I love rootbeer. Actually, there is a forest near where I live, and there are lots of sassafras trees. Occasionally, I dig up a little sapling and boil its roots with a little water to make a sort of concentrated extract. Then, I put the extract liquid in a glass of carbonated water. It's great!
-
If at all I ever drink beer its root beer. The brand doesn't really matter.
-
I don't, it has the aftertaste of mouthwash.
-
I like it. Henry Weinhard's in an ice cold bottle is the best.
-
I like the candy and popsicles. Barq's, A&W, and that other good brand.
-
"Birch Beer"
-
A&W, or Maa's
-
Diet A&W..also Mug Root Beer. Years ago there used to be A&W stands..you could buy a gallon of the stuff and when you had consumed it, take the jug back and get it refilled. Ah..those were the long ago "olden" days! Happy Thursday! :)
-
All of them. Except "diet" varieties. The crap they put into them ruins the flavor.
-
I love root beer! I'm going to go with A&W, with Barqs right behind it. I love the root beer off the tap at A&W Restaraunt....
-
Call me a troll but I can't stand root beer. My best friend loves it though, maybe I can garner sympathy points for that. Give me a lousy cream soda over a good root beer any day.
-
I do, and I think I'd have to say Barq's. Especially in a big mug with ice cream for a float.
-
A&W
-
Frostie!
-
A&W by far is my fav!
-
The kind my Ma used to make. Fizzy. We used to take it to school with our lunch in beer bottles. Man, you could never get away with that now but in those days no one ever said anything. What was my mother thinking. Man. I am aging myself but it was only 40 years ago.
-
Barq's
-
What is root beer? What's it made of?
-
Diet A & W! It really does taste like a regular root beer!!
-
Edit. wrong spot.
-
A&W rootbeer's got that frosty mug taste...yum
-
I like Barq's diet rootbeer.
