Definately smell... Its one of those things that can come from anywhere. For example, wealking through the bulk barn I got a whiff of their all natural soap base, and it reminded me of how my Gramma smelled as a kid... the memory came rushing back, after smelling the soap.

Why would someone down raqte this question? It's a great question. F@$# YOU Down rater. Smell, something about pretzels and beer just makes me what it was like to a little kid, in a bar with my dad, hustling people at cards. No one ever expects the 8 year old of cheating.

Sounds do it for me... a song can take me right back to the past.

Usually sounds, mostly, songs that were familiar to me in my past. Smell can do it too, usually my favourite outdoor smells, like that extremely subtle yet unmistakable smell of incoming Winter during those super cold Autumn days when the wind goes right though your body. It reminds me of a few things from before, but it's rare, because that particular smell is rather ephemeral. Some examples, anyway. Though the specifics of nostalgia are sometimes vague, or at least, the sentiment obtained for a fraction of three seconds is hard to retain. :/ Many times though, it's a situation...an extremely hot Summer evening also invokes some nostalgia, but it really has nothing to do with any sense rather than it does the feeling itself of a condition, but...I don't know lol, it's complicated to explain. XD

Smells bring back the best memories, pink rubber erasers remind me of my 2nd grade classroom, sometimes I get a whiff of a passing buy guys collogne and think of someone who wore it, clove cigarettes remind of hiding in to woods smoking before school,roasting coffee beans remind me of my freshman yr of college (my school was downwind of maxwell house) Songs to it to but not as vivid.

smells, the smallest little whiff can put you right back, all the memories come rushing back it seems surreal. Can you say time travel in the closest sense, haha I made a pun.
