Help answer this question below.
1.water level
2.water temp
3.oil pressure
these are the 3 things that will cause an engine shutdown..
FIRST...check the water level sensor on the cooling system overflow tank.These are notorious for failures.If this happens,unplug the wire harness from the sensor,bend the ends of a paper clip so that they will plug into the harness and tape them down to prevent them from coming out.This will get you going until you can replace the sensor(and save a HUGE amount of money for a service call)AND buy 2 sensors...that way you'll have an extra in your tool box.
I have a 1997 fld120 and i lost my buzzer red warning light on the dash but the other lights work such as the fan.can anybody help?

96 freighliner detr mtr my dash water temp gauge doesn't work even after half hr of idle no lights come on or buzzer coolant level is fine
