  • sure I'll go first. without America's land liberals wouldn't have a home for their lofty ideas
  • I think it's more like "Conservatives defend the past, while liberals try to create the future". But all such generalizations are riddled with exceptions.
  • I would dispute that the liberals defend America's ideals if by this you mean that they defend the ideals upon which this country was founded. Take a look at the attached video. Obama Is sayining that the Constitution is flawed because it does not state what it is that the government can do FOR us. This was intentional. The founding fathers did not trust government. They feared it. They saw it as necessary, but intentionally limited its power so as to keep out of the way of the people. They trusted the people to deal with most problems. They were specifically trying to prevent the kind of redistribution about which Obama is talking. Unfortunately, Obama is not unique in this philosophy. His ideas of government are held by most liberals and they are not the ideas upon which this country was founded. You might also want to look into the behavior of liberals on the college campuses with respect to speakers. They are all for letting very liberal speakers say whatever they wish, but let a conservative try to speak and they will attempt to shout them down (http://www.hawaiireporter.com/story.aspx?084eaa86-eda8-473c-9dc2-d7c9ec98f6a1). This is hardly defending the right to freedom of speech. So, no, I don't think that liberals are defending the ideals of America, they are fighting against them.
  • Exactly whose ideals is this man defending?
