I'm pretty sure it's okay. The longer it's been out of date, the better. Funny question +++
-
For putrefied bat bile, the expiration date is the date that it's OKAY to use it!
-
I'm sure it is ok..just might not be as strong of a brew though.
-
Oh no, that will ruin the whole thing
-
No No No.... Freshness counts! Always use the freshest ingredients you can get!
-
Sure. That stuff has a half life of decades. It's fine. Now, the eye of newt...
-
Like anything else, using it past the expiration date makes it less effective strength-wise.
-
No sir. That stuff is too volatile after the expiration date. Time to call in the bomb squad. Put the container down and back away slowly for your own protection.
-
It depends on the packaging. If it is in a sealed aluminum container, and has been homogenized, you can reanimate the fatty contents by adding a pinch of calcium chloride. You can't tell the difference after stirring. On the other hand, if it is raw putrefied bat bile, and is in a ziploc baggy stored in a sock drawer next to the baggy of sensimalia sativa -- it's probably not going to be any good.
-
Putrefied bat bile only gets more putrefied with age. So use it, but you may want to cut down on the quantity, or risk too strong a reaction. btw, what's the potion for?
-
Just to be safe, I would substitute some gila monster guano.
-
It's always best to use it before the expiration date. Why not substitute some eye of newt if you've got it?
-
If its putrefied it was already past its eat by date before you bought it, so no problem.
-
Well, the expiration date CAN be extended, if the bile wasn't extracted from the dead bat until just before use. It's a function of how long the bat has been dead and whether or not it had excessively dried up before the extraction. If the brew is to be used for brews associated with the dead, this type of bile is quite satisfactory. Bile extracted from LIVING bats, however, cannot be extended past their expiration date, as their potency is based upon the amount of life essence present at the time of extraction. If you are in doubt, however, you may make some substitutions depending upon the intended use of the brew. If the brew is meant to be used for personal 'medicinal' use or casuel drinking with friends, you may substitute mouse or rat bile. Most any rodent will produce a good flavor, and the capibarra makes a very smooth, heady flavor. But absolutely do NOT use reptile or lizard bile. They will give you the most aweful hangovers you have ever know.

As putrefied bat bile purchasing has recently been put under new regulations in order to take in account environmental issues and sustainable development global agreements, we are pleased to put the following informations to your knowledge. 1. Consumers will be requested from January,1 to use when preparing a witch brew, new artificial bat bile made from toad skin and old bat bile stocks as long as they are still available . 2.From March 31, it will be gradually replaced with pumpkin sauce mixed with black goo. 3. We have no informations available about the prices.

No; using components with expired dates could cause the spell to ricochet and rebound to the witch instead. If you want the spell to work, you must use the correct ingredients and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Happy haunting!
-
If you put it in the microwave with a teaspoon of water for 30secs it will be just fine and also keep the brew from getting lumpy. Cheers:)
-
officer you know better than that. to use PBB past the expiration date is gross
-
NO! But you can use petrified toads juice instead. The moister the better, dont worry about it wriggling when you squeeze its warts! just squeeze harder....... The louder they pop the better it tastes gives the brew a right kick <cackles warterly>
-
Yeah, just like it's OK to drink expired bottled water.
-
Yes, as long as one doesn't mind vomiting pumpkin bits and licorice sticks in the kiddies' apple dunking pot and making a big stink afterwards!

As with any question on these Q & A sites, you have to take the source into consideration. You have received many incorrect answers here. Since I am a qualified expert on this subject, per my profile (last line), I will give you the correct information. The expiration date is solely for the purpose of tricking the user into buying more past the stated date. It has absolutely no bearing on the efficiency of the product. I can assure you, that if the product came from a reputable source, there is no such thing as an expiration date. All you need to be aware of is; the older it is, the more potent it is (assuming it was potent in the first place).
