  • I am a fan of remixing old names, like Exequiel instead of Ezekiel. Weird ensample, but you get the idea.
  • I am a fan of old fashioned names, but I don't like the plain ones like joe or ann. (No offense to those who already do have a name like that!) I know sad excuse for an apology, but its an opinion.
  • What exactly are traditional "old fashioned" names? Each generation seems to have different "traditional" names. Look at Ashley, it used to be a male name, as did Robin, which was short/loving term for Robert, and both became female names over time. I think though, I prefer less common names, not necessarily "newer", often the old names that aren't used very often are nice.
  • I don't like the new or different spellings. I enjoy a fresh new name as well as older traditional ones. But not spelling things oddly or completely different in an attempt to be new and fresh. It just looks forced to me.
  • i like unique names that no one really has. i hated walking thru the halways at school and every time someone yelled at a name with the ending of EE about half the school would turn around including myself. i refuse to give my children last names that end in "ee" "ie" or "ey". that and im a big fan of boy names for girls, maiden names for first names, and inventing my own names from a mixture of names.
  • Only so many kids need to be named Rumor or Scout. I don't mind 'new' names being spelled differently, but don't make the spelling so damned difficult that the kid always has to spell it slowly. I had a girl in my class named Michelle. When i called out Michelle, no one answered. I asked for Michelle Roberts. The reply I got was, "That ain't my name." So asked what the name was. "My name is spelled Michelle, but it is not said like that. It pronounced Mee-shell-a." Yeah. Some of her attitude comes from her damn name. She's unique and everyone needs to know it.
