EBSCO Auto Repair Reference Center Fog Lights REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Except 1997–98 Firebirds with Sports Appearance Package Disconnect the negative battery cable. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the front bumper fascia lower deflector. Unfasten the bolts/screws attaching the fog lamp assembly to the front bumper impact bar, then remove the fog lamp. Fig. 1: Exploded view of a typical fog lamp mounting — except 1997–98 Firebirds with the sports appearance package If necessary, remove the nuts from the front bumper impact bar. To install: If removed, install the front bumper impact bar nuts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm). Position the fog lamp to the front bumper impact bar and install the retaining bolts/screws. Tighten to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Install the front bumper fascia lower deflector. Carefully lower the vehicle. Connect the negative battery cable, then check the fog lights for proper operation.
