That could be a very long answer, there are many reasons why Caesar wanted to overthrow the rupublic. In truth historians still argue that Caesar did not want the power of dictator for life, nonetheless his great-nephew and heir Octavian Augustus was the first emperor. The people feared Caesar to be a tyrant yet embraced Octavian as their emperor, this is a question that could explained for hours...but if you would like to know any thing about old Julius I would be glad to answer them :) If this is not homework, then what, if i may ask, is your interest in old Julius?
