I prefer Gregorian, because they seem more sonorous. Byzantine chant are pleasurable, but more melodious.

I'd have to say Gregorian since I've sung Gregorian music in church all my life, but not Byzantine chant. I've listened to Byzantine and it sounds like it has a different tonality. I've seen its music system and don't understand any of it, but it would be interesting to learn about it.

That's such a hard question. I've heard both, and listened to both all my life, but I suppose I prefer Byzantine because it has a more nostalgic feel. I knew Byzantine before I knew Gregorian, and I have to say I just like the celestial atmosphere it gives. Both are such a heavenly sound, but Byzantine is closer to my heart than Gregorian.
