If you are a girl (which I am) - you say Mom you shouldn't need to ask me that.. I think you brought me up well enough to know between right and wrong.. That's the get out of jail free card!

this means she considers you old enough to be sexually active, DO NOT LIE. Although this will seem like a good idea at first, it is not. She will of course want you to be safe and you will problably have to reassure her that you are. Being open and honest will be awkward, but if she is asking, she is starting to see you as an adult and has problably already prepared herself for the worst. DO NO LIE...I can't stress that enough, at the same time, make sure you know when it is appropriate to engage in such activities, if you do not know, ask her...she will help
