REO stands for Ransom Eli Olds. Olds as in Oldsmobile, but his company was called REO. Oldsmobile was used by General Motors as a line later. No REO automobile was called the Speedwagon but it was a nickname for the firetruck. The 1931 REO Royale was one of the most beautiful cars ever manufactured. http://jliptrap.us/Reo.htm
