Regular Norton is junk, the advantage Norton Professional has, is that it's bigger junk. EDIT: Find an alternative like Avira that is far more efficient than Norton and out performs the competition by 2:1 in features, heuristics, and detection rates. Well it costs more and takes up more space on your hard drive. Oh, and it slows down your computer even more. There might be a cooler looking skin, though.

Norton wrecked my computer. It's hard to remove, but they will refund you your money in the end. Advantages? None at all.

Norton back in the day use to have advantages over the other anti virus providers... now a days not so much.. they are all most all the same for the top notch ones and Norton is just below that line. but sadly the free anti virus market is booming and symantic has done nothing while a lot of others have. “avg, bit defender, aol, panda, avast, averia” I can see free firewalls and system utilities like symantic system works coming on the internet soon. I know they have some like it at fresh devices, I use to use their fresh downloaded when I was on 56k and it was amazing. i am currently beta testing Norton internet security 2009. it is a lot better looking then their last ones and not as heavy on the system resources... system page file usage with out antivirus or firewall 200-225 with Norton beta 2009 internet security "anti virus + firewall" 400-450 not bad at all... still not even using 1/4 of my total. as for detection and such i don’t know probly the same as their products on the market but has neat new features witch make it a tiny bit better. and as for Norton running your computer I have done this my self…. Installed way to man Norton products they did not all get along and screwed it right over. But that was because i did not know what I was doing. And if I did it would not have gotten out of hand. Another note they should combine powers with good anti spywear peoples nad malware grayweger and all that crap… almost all antivirus/firewalls/compete suites cant deal with it and then we have to download like 3 other programs because one is flawed in one manner so they make up for each other. in the end wait till Norton releases their new product i think it just might make a comeback but the other anti virus providers will not be going down easy. That’s about as simple as it gets…. O and price wise. They will most likely not drop their prices and loose business their as well.
