  • My boss ran into this at a computer store I worked at years ago. We has the name Stratus Computers, turned out a store back east had the same name with a copyright on it and we were in California. The sued and we had to change the name, and copyrighted ours as New Millenium Systems. Worst case is you just have to register the name change and put out new ficticious name statements if it ever comes up. It may not matter since they are in Canada and if they do have a copyright it may not apply in the U.S. unless it's at international level.
