  • No, my solution to a rude delivery driver is to give as good as you get.
  • I used to do that. I was friendly but some of the customers were nasty. They should have the same requirements. As long as it's unilateral I'd be good with that.
  • No, just be on time and do your job.
  • Seems like UPS and FED EX guys/gals are getting a little pissier lately. I am sure that they are overworked.
  • You figure people would take the job if they really enjoyed interacting with people. I guess they don't have to be nice as long as they don't break my shit. That said, I'm not sure if I'd be more pissed at a really nice deliveryman who broke stuff, or a really mean deliveryman who never broke stuff.
  • Nah. Then who would you talk badly about the rest of the day. Who was rude to you? Share.
  • I think anyone that is going to take a job where they have to interact with people should be friendly. If they don't like people, then they probably won't like their job, which means they will probably break your shit.
  • Yes it should be. In many places it is. You have a problem with a delivery person here you call and report them. It does not happen often most are very friendly but every now and then you find someone who wants to unload their personal crap on you. What some do not understand that they are dealing with the public and respect keeps you employed. Each person you deliver to are your customers and if they complain there are many who are willing to take their place.
  • No but I think there is no reason for them not to be. I'm sorry I ordered it ok.
  • No. When I was a pizza Delivery man I was friendly to everyone except for the known stiffers. We were always glad to lose a customer that didnt tip!
  • Only if there's a requirement for the recipient to be fully clothed ;)
  • No, i used to be a delivery man but got shouted at all the time. I was a midwife mind. ha ha :P
  • hi, sara, babieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ... yes ... LoLz ... ^_^
  • Pfft...no. If I'm hauling a 80lb box up a flight of icy, unsalted, concrete steps with a flimsy handrail. I'm NOT going to be too thrilled to see you at the door. and If your dog is outside unchained barking and snarling and you are waving... "Oh he won't bite"... I'm not going to be smiling when I manage to get your signature for the package. Those are just two examples. I'm not going to be thrilled to everyone I see. But fortunately I have a regular smile on my face :):):)
  • I wouldn't want them getting friendly with my daughter... Just leave the package and move along, ok, Bud? >:(
  • not neccesarily but speaking english would be great.
  • I dont think so, as long as your package doesnt come late or damaged, they did their job
  • Yes, they are in most cases the face of the company. If they PO the customer. Axe
  • yes, if they ever want me to use their service again.
  • everyone who deals with the public should be a little friendly
  • Not looking for a friend ... just a safe delivery.
  • Eh. I don't care if they are or not. They are usually gone within two minutes anyway. They got stuff to do and people to see.
  • Yes it should as in essence they represent their company. What I think about the company may hinge on their behavior. If they are pleasant, friendly and helpful, that is how I see the company:-0
  • Personally, I don't think they should be grumpy (or they they should at least acknowledge that they're not their normal "cheerful" self, verbally and apologetically). They should TRY to be friendly, or at the very least neutral. I was a debit route salesman for insurance a while back. As such, I HAD to be as friendly as possible to everyone, even if they had a dog that tried to bite me, or I had a wreck with them the week before that the cops said was my fault, but I think was theirs (true story). BTW: I re-upped their policy! LOL As a salesman or deliveryman, you are a stranger coming to or INTO their home. In most cases, as a deliveryperson, you can just leave it on their doorstep, but if you want to make a good impression, and remember that YOU are the "face" of your company, then you do everything you can to make that customer's experience a good one. Even apologizing for being grumpy (even if you tried not to be) will do that. Just do the best you can to be as nice as you can, is all I ask. ;-)
