yes. becuase i'm not hurting any body sitting in my back yard,at my telescope, burning one. 2 points for you.

I think it should be up to each state to decide, although I guess it could fall under the interstate commerce clause and thus mandate federal regulation. If that's the case, I'd have to say that it should be SLOWLY legalized with VERY strict controls. That way the gov't could cut down on drug violence, etc. The youth of the Netherlands use less pot than American youth... that shows something.
-
Not.
-
http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/121210 Do you think MJ should be legalized?
-
Legalize it. It's no more harmful than drinking alcohol-in fact look at it like this.. In one room you have a group of people drinking, and in another room, a group of people smoking weed, where is the fight going to start?
-
Not legalised, but it should be decriminalised. In the 60's I once recieved a reprimand from the Police for smoking a joint, this was good thing, if I had recieved a criminal conviction as I broke the Law, it would have ruined my career.
-
Legalise - will cut out the black market.
-
All it does is just harm you, so whats the difference between alcohol and cigarettes? they all share one thing in common and that is that they do damage to the human body. May as well legalise it if we can intake these things.
-
Naaa. It makes you stupid and lazy.
-
Legalize it. It's not very bad I always thought that they should have voted for kinky freedman I liked alote of what he had to say. I think that in a way marijuana can do some good for people and i think everybody would be happier Honestly. Then again its very bad because the effects it can have on certain people are not good. Im Not a pothead but a little bit never hurt anybody
-
In common with others I believe that alcohol and cigarettes do as much, if not more, harm to your body. This, however, is not an argument for legalising in itself, just a comparison that may mean acohol and/or cigarettes should be made illegal. That said I think that both prostitution and marijuana/cannabis should be lagalised but controlled. There should be specific areas, regularly inspected by government officials, where it's allowed to smoke weed. The reasoning behind this is that it a) gives a new form of revenue to the government, b) means that strength of product is more guaranteed, c) removes part of the criminal element who make money off dealing, d) allows police to crack down much harder on people who don't use the designated areas. Of course the arguments against legalisation are the length of time the active chemical stays in the body, and the effects of prolonged use, even significant time after being 'clean'. What it comes down to is that either the government recognise they will never stop usage and that they can make money from this drug, or they spend taxpayers' money in a Canutian effort to stem the tide of drug use. Legalise it, take their money, and leave my hard earned cash alone.

Yes, it would get rid of black market, less money to the truly awful people, judicial system would clear up, and we would be a little closer to true freedom.
-
Well i think marijuana should be legalized, cause they havent seen anything bad from it.Its alcohol that is more dangerous.
-
Yes. Every drug. Only some are more dangerous than others, so they should only be sold in seperate +18 shops; registering what you bought, to prevent abuse and selling it on to youngsters. Also sell cigarettes, alkohol, guns and porn there. Include healthcare in the price (excessive alkohol affects the liver, XTC your teeth..) By growing drugs in your own country, drug related crime deminishes, taxes are payed and the money stays within the US. I'm Dutch, and although available, I don't do drugs. Don't care much about alkohol either. But then, I never needed it. We should also focus on what brings people to use excessive drugs or alkohol...

I am Australian and in some states here, small quantities are legal But I have known 5 people that were heavy marijuana users that have been committed for symptoms of paranoid scitsafrenia. I dont believe it should be legal anywhere, but if it is, an age limit should be enforced strictly.
-
No because most people would abuse it.
-
Why is a plant that was that was here before our system was, illegal. If you sat two people down and one drank shot after shot and the other took bong hit after bong hit the drinker could DIE but the smoker would either fall asleep or just eat a ton of food, yet alcohol is the legal drug? So yes marijuana should be legal. Also medicinal and manufacturing reasons add to my logic.
-
Prohibition is a failed system, will they realize it soon - maybe. How can you put someone who grows a plant into jail with murderers and rapists? U.S. government decided it knew what we should put in our bodies, so they outlawed it. That right there is unnerving to me. No politician I have ever met should make a decision like that for me. In 1937 the U.S. Marihuana Tax Act was created to make marijuana disappear through making it illegal to have without a tax stamp but no one could acquire the tax stamp due to the fact you would be incriminating yourself. It was enacted on the grounds that cannabis caused "murder, insanity and death" After this was found to be unconstitutional in 1969 due to its violation of our fifth amendment right our congress passed the Controlled Substances Act. -So we have the war on drugs(they thought the name prohibition wouldn't work anymore). Government doesn't think it can effectively tax the product so they outlaw it. To make a profit and provide jobs, the DEA and ONDCP and many other anti-marijuana groups are given our tax dollars to fight a war against our own citizens. I feel this way because I almost lost my life and a friends thanks to alcohol. Marijuana isn't harmless but it sure is a lot safer than some of the other vices people have(tobacco, alcohol, prescriptions, etc..).
-
Legalize it. In a society based upon the rights of the individual, there must be a clear and compelling reason to interfere with an individual's freedom of choice. The evidence against marijuana use does not even come close. I wish they'd just legalize it, so that we can spend our effort and money on an issue that actually matters.
-
yes please lol
-
RE legalized. Marijuana should be RE legalized. it was legal before the pigs of the reefer madness era made outrageous and racist claims regarding the use of cannabis despite a serious lack of evidence. Marijuana was legal in every other time period, regardless if we used it or not. Therefore it should be RE legalized. Just clarifying that.

It's illegal because the folks at government had nothing better to do after banning alcohol. The biggest opposers to the banning were doctors, who were asking the government why they would outlaw such a useful, common pharmaseutical that had almost no side effects and was cheap to produce. Scientific research has shown that marihuana is a lot less dangerous than tobacco and alcohol. It's physically nonaddictive (you have a harder time quitting coffee than marihuana), it does no damage to the brain (unlike alcohol) and little to the lungs (unlike tobacco). And it could be eaten instead if it was legal and available in larger quantities. All the arguments against marijuana are pretty much invented. It doesn't cause violent behaviour and portal theory only works because the dealers can cash in more with heroin than pot. There is the risk of psychosis - but only in people who are inherently psychotic anyway. Also, hemp (that's the same plant!) can be used to make extremely fine paper and pretty decent canvas, it's easier to grow and eco-friendlier than cotton. Plus, it hasn't promoted slavery. Non-drug cannabis can't be profitably used for pot, so there's no reason for the plant itself to be illegal. Legalise it, this is insanely stupid. Ban tobacco instead, there's no sense in growing or smoking it. It only does harm to the growers, the smokers and anyone around the smokers. And as for alcohol, it's like Bob Marley said: "Alcohol make you stupid. Weed make you smart".

marijuana is not as bad as others
-
damn how many different marijuana questions are there. coming from a full time stoner, well used to be, actually screw it. u can imagine what i have to say on the subject. anyways tho, its our choice to make this happen not our government's or at least it better be. and i dont want to hear another person call it a drug or im going on a rampage. lol. dnt give it bad name if you dnt have a clue wat your talking about..dnt go by wat your stupid government says and what youve been lied to about your whole life. i know i was lied to..its a wonderful, beautiful plant. let it free peace
-
yes i believe it should be legalized. [catch a buzz (v) get high; smoke a joint]
-
I think it should be legal. Its wrong to over-do like ANYTHING else (except breathing) but it should be legal. I think pot is the most natural drug now a days and there really aren't any severe side effects when used properly. When choosing a side in the war on drugs, choose the right one and support the legalization of marijuana
-
Legalize it. Me and my friends aint never hurt nobody when we light up and listen to Floyd. Prison overcrowding and some violence will be reduced 2.
-
Marijuana Should Be Legalized Because It Expands Your Mind. It Completely Changes Your State Of Mind And Your View Of Life. You Have A Greater Respect For Life And Nature. It Takes You To Another World Where You Can Escape The Pressures Of Life.
-
Yes, the idea that the government has any right to tell an adult what s/he can do without involving anyone else is absurd. Then, keeping drugs illegal only means that prices stay high and can supply large profits to criminals. And the US has more people imprisoned that any other country in the developed world - the huge majority for non-violent drug conviction. And finally - legalization would mean they could be regulated and taxed like booze. On every level it's nut to keep them illegal.
-
it's easier to have a lethal overdose of asperin than marijuana. In order to OD on weed you would have to smoke approx. 1.5 metric tons in a span of about 15 minutes. that's about 40,000 times what it takes to get you high. Unless you have an enormous pipe or something, it aint gonna happen. I've tried to overdose. I just ended up taking a nap. lol
-
Yes, all drugs should be legal. Prohibition creates more problems and solves nothing. Men should be free to ingest any plant or drug they want. We should have control over our bodies. The politicians should not have this power over us.
