  • It's funny, the Native Americans thought exactly the same thing!
  • To an extent yes. But the solution to that needs alot of hard evidence and research behind it. The white and black and asian drug traffickers are also bad. But American now is strength through the power of diversity and togetherness :). I have a problem with the illegal immigrants, but the immigrants that want to actually become citizens I dont have a problem with. Once they are citizens, they have the right to work and live their life the american way.
  • A century ago, Teddy Roosevelt framed his thoughts on immigration with these words. "We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... " Theodore Roosevelt
  • hogwash. immigrants generally do low-paying work with little or no benefits that americans consider beneath them. global wealth-sharing (free trade agreements; artificially inflating the value of the yen and euro, etc) 'hurt' our economy more than illegals but also make the US a less desirable immigrant destination. crimes and drugs are prominent problems even in communities where the immigrant presence is negligible. and have you read about the drop in illegals in the US from mexico because of our economic slide? see the attached article: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,409221,00.html
  • And stealing the opportunities that America has to offer from LEGAL immigrants. I'm contemptuous of those who chose to break our immigration laws. I don't think they should ever be granted citizenship under any circumstance. They are predisposed to think that our laws don't apply to them. I think they've been treated far to leniently by our judicial system and should be expecting prison sentences prior to their deportation and permanent ban from the US.
  • I dont think immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans, why? Because you will never see a legal American out on the field picking vegetrables or fruits?...You will never see a legal American working in McDonalds making burgers or in other restaurant. And a legal American wouldnt be out there making 'pretty' the yard of a wealthy person?...You dont see that here, you only see illegals doing it, I wish i could see Legal Americans out in the hot field picking up strawberries? Thats when im gonna say, Yeah illegal immigrants are taking awayt jobs away from Americans...thats when i will agree...when i see a white american working out in the fields, in construction, being a ganitor in some fancy hotel or office place. That's when i will agree ...which i kno it will never happen!
  • I think the war on drugs has backfired immensely
