How does government housing aid work for someone who would be renting an apartment? what are the requirements? ans where can i find the waiting lists?

    there are 2 types: public housing..they tell you where to live or section 8..you find the place. You pay 30% of your income after deductions for medical, utility allowance deductions, etc. You have to decide what city you want to live in, go to that office and get an application. In some places you wait 2 years in some you may wait 10 years.. They have priority preferences which will move you up toward the top.. in no way can you apply and get one right away..expect a wait. Only the local office can tell you about waiting list/times.
