connect the cable. check if connection working well or not. allow Port 60 (Windows File Sharing) in your firewall or if you don't know how, turn off it. reboot both computer. if not working, setup IPv4: in network status window go to properties, choose Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) service and fill it with these: IP Address 192.0.0.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 leave other fields empty do these setting for other computer. but use these IP: IP Address 192.0.0.2 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 now it must work for you.
