Disaster. Both the rep. and dem. would voltron together in Congress and go after him or her. That would be bad.

I think very little would get done. Congress is composed of one or the other and the President has to have relations with those parties to get anything done. We would need a politician who has extensive ties to both parties and good relations to effectively change anything. With control in the hands of those two particular parties they will not relinquish it to anyone outside of their group. It would not be a disaster, it would be a very precise political culture where the needs of the country would be addressed in a very clinical way.

Look what happened when independent Jesse Ventura took the Minnesota Governorship. That's a pretty high office, and a good barometer of what would happen, one may think.

Part of me thinks it would be funny because I am just so fed up with both parties and can't agree with either. But I think you're all right... it would be a disaster. You all make good points. I'd be really curious to see exactly what would happen though.. That could probably be the only thing that could make this election any weirder than it already is.

Oh, man! There would probably be a joint coupe d'etat by the Dems and the Republicans and the idiots that follow particularly the latter
