How about "stood out like an african-american at a Sarah Palin rally"? Last week a black reporter, who was wearing press credentials and standing in the journalists' section at a Palin/McCain rally, got detained by campaign security..... Oh crap. At first I thought that was kinda funny, but it's horrifying.

Maybe something like was like a christian at a pro gay rally? No offence to christians of course, just poking a little fun. But seriously, try to think of something involving colours, or whatever you are writing about
