I was a physics student at UTA for the sole reason of becoming one, but I've since taken interest in the medical field. I still have thousands of hours logged at the telescope, so I suppose I could be considered one.

No, but I'm very interested in astronomy. I fully appreciated being able to see our galactic band when I was at an elevation of about 6,000 feet in Yosemite one night that was free of any visible lunar and terrestrial light.

At the very minimum, I would consider myself an amateur astronomer. I'm very curious about astronomical events and I love to look at comets, nebulae, and galaxies with my binoculars.
