What is system idle process in task manager and why does mine always say 99?

It's kind of an oxymoron. This process does nothing but account for processor time left over that the system isn't using for other processes. In Task Manager, expect this process to account for the majority of processor time. So in essence, if the idle process is 'using 99% of your CPU, it means your CPU is only busy doing 1% of stuff. Stuff being a technical term......
