The penny is the most useless coin ever. All it does it create endless loose change.
-
I don't have lots of pennies, so most likely I would not care.
-
then how I will pay for all those 1 cent stamps at the post office EVERY few months when they raise the rates (and say "but we haven't done it in years)
-
No cause there a pain in the butt.
-
no, would be happy
-
I think I would miss it for aesthetic purposes.
-
Not anymore. With the current economy, I think the penny is so worthless I owe money for every penny I have on me.
-
It will happen eventually. If someone will miss it they can collect it now. The value will go up the less pennies are around :)
-
That would be really cool. It's just weight in my wallet.
-
yes. what would I give you for your thoughts? A rock, an ice cube, a leaf. Leave the damn penny alone.

Here in New Zealand over recent years the powers that be have gotten rid of our 1 cent, 2 cent and also our 5 cent coins. In the cashless society that we have become, that was fine when paying by EFTPOS, but if you still dare to pay by cash, everything gets rounded up or down - seemingly mostly upwards so you end up paying more for an item ... adds up over the course of a year. Even national letter postage went up from 45 to 50cents as it was "impossible' to purchase a single 45 cent stamp ... unless you paid by EFTpoS lol ;)
-
IT CANT BE DISCONTINUED, BECAUSE OF THE TAX.
-
actually I wouldn't give it a second thought.
-
I would most likely end my life....

Yes, I would care if pennies went away. What would you do if an item came up to be $2.61? How would you manage to pay for it or make change on it without pennies?
