Do you find that although the Canadians, Americans and the British live in different countries and even across the ocean that their thought processes, language and understanding is so similar even after centuries of different history and development?

We have similarities and I always assumed that we were very similar. However, when I went to visit my sister who lives in NH I was taken aback at how foreign I felt!

I would think that our three societies origionated in England and therefore the basis for our continued similarities.

I don`t think the histories of all three countries are all that different. The British were very prevalent in shaping both America and Canada. Canada was a British colony up until quit recently, 1982, when it gained its full independence.

I think we have the whole anglo vibe happening so we're sort of cohesive in that respect. I will say, though, that the first time I ever met a Canadian he was wearing brief-style swim trunks. We didn't mesh on that particular thought process.
