The modern Robin Hood. Go power company go!

While I'm all for charity, sounds like that should be your choice to make. Or, if they're so benevolent, let them make the bill $102 and send off the 51 cents!;)
-
wasn't that generous of them! so not only do they get a nice simple billing system but they also get kudos from the charity. if they were truely charitable they would be rounding down.
-
I think that is a great idea, but I also feel people should be able to opt out. I wouldn't mind it and would go ahead and let them give the money to charity, but that's me.
-
I suspect what they did is technically illegal, but they are counting on the fact that people are not going to get their hackles up over amounts less than $1. If enough people get together and make a stink (protests, lawsuits, etc.), they will quit the practice.

It should be your choice - not that of the power company.

I don't like anyone making decisions about my money. I don't care if it's a quarter, it's my quarter. And who really knows where the money goes? I think it's stealing and I don't like it one bit.
-
I bet it works out nicely that most bills are just over by five or fewer cents,so as to get about .40 cents per bill.
-
It would be nice of them if they would give their customers the OPTION to be a part of it. They way they are doing it is stealing.
