I fixed the problem regarding my VW Golf constantly stalling - replacing the Ignition starter switch sorted it. If there is anyone with a similar problem this may help!

I think i have the same problem you had...Did your constantly stall when you foot was off the gas..coming to a light turning ect. The rpms will rev up when i first start it then go down and sometimes go all the way down and then stall. If you had the same problem i will try replacing the Ignition starter switch.
