pet stores have this spray that you can put on stuff so that dogs don't like the taste of it. it's "bitter apple spray." it worked for my dog. now he doesn't chew anything anymore.

the puppy is probably teething. get it some chew toys, and leash him to a door knob.

Sounds crazy, bite him back or growl at him.

The puppy needs another puppy to play with.

would growling at the pup actually work? I have a 4mth spaniel who has taken to growling at me when i try to pick up his toy and he then snaps at me. snaps and bites at me on other occasions too. Really getting frustrating.

For my dogs I just do a gently finger tap on-top of the nose and a firm 'No!' with persistance the dog will associate this biting action with being bad..

Your puppy is probably teething. Firstly get him a load of toys that he can chew, you can get these from a pet shop, charity shop, or use a plastic bottle or cardboard box. then, whenever he chews something he shouldnt, say "no" firmly and replace it with one of his "chewies". When he chews on his toy, give him lots of praise, play with him and give him a biscuit. Repeat very time he chews the wrong thing. If he chews you (fingers, face) mimic what puppies do in the pack, scream! If you watch puppies as they're developing, they bite eachother as part of play, and if they bite too hard the dog will cry out. Try it, its how they learn bit inhibition naturally. Hope this helps
