I think you can quick-boil them and then dunk them into ice water. The skin should peel right off then.

Great question - and one I can actually answer correctly - you drop it in hot, not boiling, water. The skins splits and partially peels off on it's own and you just help it!

use your fingernail to make a small slit and then just peel the rest off

cut about a one inch slit in the top the drop them into boiling water for one min. then in Ice water for one min. peel by puting a pice of the skin between your finger and a pairing knife are if you do not mind the mess squeese the tomatoes. Freez the tomato ,takeout ,then put in normal water for a minute ,now rub the tomto in hands softly, you will find a skinless tomato in your hands

Score an X on the bottom of the tomato (just breaking the skin, not cutting deeply into the fruit). Drop the tomato into a big pot of boiling water. When the tomato floats to the top and/or when you see the skin peeling back, remove it from the water (this should only take a minute or two). Immediately place the tomato in a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process. Once the tomato's cooled down (another couple minutes), take it out and the skin should come right off. This is called scalding or parboiling or blanching.
