Iraqi Airways (since 1945) Unsafe I would think now El-Al (Israel National Airline) Too many "accidents" Southwest (alot of complaints and even a TV show on them and some of the stuff they deal with.)

NorthWest Airlines are pretty hard to beat. I took a first class flight from Detroit to Vegas and the extent of my refreshments was a glass of water and a packet of pretzels. Having just transferred from KLM it was a shock to receive such shabby treatment

NORTHWEST !!!!

Malev Hungarian Airlines. If you want food then bring your own, because all you will get is a nasty roll with 3 pieces of pepperoni on it and a chocolate bar. Ryanair & Easy Jet. The prices are cheap but, if anything happens you are screwed, because they will not help you and that can mean waiting for days at the airport just to get home or paying more money for another ticket. Plus, expect to pay for any drinks or snacks if you want to eat anything. In a nutshell avoid at all cost. If you are flying in Europe I prefer BA and BMI. The prices are slightly higher, but if anything happens you are better off-giving you a greater peace of mind.

Of all that I've flown (Air Canada, the old BOAC, Cathay, United Arab Emirates Air, Egypt Air, British Airways, Continental, US Air, NorthWest Air, American Air, CP Air, Air India, KLM and Lufthansa ), hands down...no question Air India. I took an internal flight from New Delhi to Calcutta that was delayed because a piece of the aircraft fell off onto the tarmac as they were loading, the replacement air craft stunk to high heaven, there were chicken feathers and goat hair on my seat and the meal (when it came), I couldn't tell how good it was, I'd long lost my appetite and sense of smell and was wondering if they remembered to put tires on the wheels for landing or if they had, were they still there.

Here in Spain, Air Madrid (which was closed by the government because of their constant delays and accidents), Lapa (Argentina) and Cubana (Cuba)

Miat.....domestic air in Russia...poor safety record....many crashes.....

Some of the African independents. Third World airlines don't have the standards that First World ones do. On first world airlines, you get a nasty meal; on the worst of third world ones, you see the crew hammering the dents out before you board. That said, there are some very competent African airlines - but the worst are very bad.

I once flew from Diyarbakir to Istanbul using Turk Hava Yollari (Turkish Airlines), but many others referred to it as 'They Hate You' airlines. Broken & torn seats, broken seat belts, scowling flight attendants, no food, one drink of hot water (barely flavored with a tea leaf), and the pilot flew the jet like it was a military jet, and then landing it like a rock. For added excitement, the plane made all kinds of mechanical groaning noises that I never heard before and don't want to hear again. On the flip side, the best airlines I flew on were Asiana and Alaska.

Korean airlines has to be the worst of the lot

AIR INDIA , no doubt, by all means managed by most corrupt bureaucrats in world, with lethargic workforce. AIR INDIA staff are more interested in making their homes from airline resources. This airline is missing on everything. customer service??? what is that? Sorry they yet to hear or know this word. Risky , poor maintained airline.

Air India is the worst of all lol , i mean once a pilot put the plane on auto pilot and feel asleep , and due to some problem the plane diverted from its path and went over another city then the pilot woke up and put the p[lane back on track , resulting the palne to be 3 hrs late for its schedule time , also there r lot of cases of shit being served in the name of fo0d lol

air france, always late and the day is on time your bags will not be on the plane

I'm surprised people are naming European and American companies. In many nations in Europe and North American their are strict safety standards that are nonexistent in Asia, especially the less traveled areas. Air Koryo, North Korea's offical airline is certainly in the running for this dubious honor; It has been banned by the EU, and makes no attempt to repair its old Soviet planes. My vote goes to Tajik Air, notorious for its inebriated pilots and lack of basic maintenance. It also has been banned by the EU, and despite its miniscule customer base has been involved in two high profile crashes. Customer service is poor, with three to four times as many tickets sold compared to seats on the plane. When my father flew to Dushanbe on business two years ago, he was told he would have to fight it out with other passengers to resolve the issue. He gave up his seat after seeing the co pilot helping his drunken colleague aboard.

CONTINENTAL CONTINENTAL CONTINENTAL. Did I mention Continental? Almost every time I have flown with them I have had issues. They delayed the flight for crew rest, which made me miss my connecting flight. Continental did absolutely nothing to help me though it was their fault. They are unsupportive and not helpful when their flights were constantly being canceled because of failed inspections. I had to drive up there in a taxi about 4 different times in 4 days just for them to tell me, "Your flight was canceled for tomorrow." Why couldn't they have told me that on the phone?!

United Airlines. Because they brake guitars.

If your number one priority is safety...I gotta go with Southwest. They are currently operating dozens of aircraft (Boeing 737's) with the wrong parts installed in them. [www.newser.com/.../faa-investigating-southwest-over-parts-and-repairs- grounded-planes-caused-weekend-delays.html] It's not the first time.
