Why can't people break up with their partner before they start going out and having sex with other people?

Honestly, in my opinion, it is because even though someone is unhappy, they want to know if there is something better out there for them, before they break up. This includes finding out if the sex is better. I myself would break up first!

because they are very selfish. they don't want to break up, they really just want the best of both worlds. the safe relationship of a partner and then the 'lets have fun' side of seeing other people..as long as they don't get caught! because they are selfish they don't see what's wrong until they get caught and what they really wanted they have destroyed, probably forever. (there are exceptions of the ones 'who work it out') people don't use there heads, they make a commitment and don't stand by it. it's a commitment- for the good times and the bad times! you don't go running off when things get tough! you work through it!!! that's true commitment! but in reality you get the selfish one's who only think of there own needs, and it is usually almost about sex. I just don't get or understand it either why people do it. it's something i've been trying to get a grasp of for the last couple of months, and i am still asking why?

i don't think it's the fair thing to do. if you find yourself interested in someone else the first thing you should do is talk to your partner about it. it's so unfair to them to do otherwise.

They are afraid of hurting the other person. So they want to be secret about it. And again, they just want to keep something on the side, in case the other person doesn't work out. It hurts, but that is the truth as to why people start messing around with someone else while they are already with someone.

it actualy has to do with self asteam these people usualy act like there gods gift(some dont) but realy they think that they arent very attractive so when someone comes onto them even if they love the one there with it feels so good to have someone treating them like there sexy but they don't want to leave the person there with cause that person want them too. this is why it's called having your cake and eating it too.

Because they are selfish and they do not want to hurt the other person. I wish mine would have told me but i guess that is the way love goes.
