I don't think that is his plan I think it it to tax everyone who works to pay for everyone that doesn't work. Which is actaully worse than what you asked.
-
Well, I'm not wealthy, and anything has to be better than what they've been doing. I'm sure Obama's solution is short-sighted, fanciful, and filled with holes, but this country is pretty screwed right now financially.

Should people vote for a party that outsources jobs, creates McJobs to put in their place and take away basic worker rights. Coupled with, downsizing, longer hours, less pay and no worker protection. Then you have the tax system that lets multinationals to pay almost zero tax, gives massive tax breaks to the super rich while ensuring the the working and middle classes have higher taxes. How people can think the Republicans can ever be a party of the people, beggars belief, they are the party of the haves, the rest of the population are fooled into voting for them with flag waving patriotism, and scaremongering. Obama is about as socialist as New Labour is in the UK, which isn't socialist at all, its a social democrat agenda

Trickle down does not work. It is against human nature to "share the wealth". Rich get richer, middle class and poor get ... (you can fill in the blanks). Simplified tax code without the all of the loopholes and write offs would help save money due to less admin cost and more money coming in because all would pay based on their income.
-
Yes, I much prefer taxing the overly wealthy to taxing the middle class. The poor and middle class need that money desperately.

People who live in Denmark and are taxed at 50 percent tax rate are deemed to be the happiest people in the world. Many countries are much more humanitarian about their fellow citizens than we Americans. We are generous, but only when we choose. As I understand it, Obama is going to increase taxes on the highest 1 percent of wage earners and cut taxes for everyone else. We've had "trickle down" economics. How about enriching the lower income people and letting their expenditures "trickle up?"
-
I agree with you about the first Bush. We can agree to disagree about the 2nd Bush.

First of all you load the question with an opinion that does not make for good answers. Answering either yes or no indicates one agrees that what he is doing is redistribution and also socialist. Sorry, homey don't play that game.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. -------------------------------------------- That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A . After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that.

I've not found any common ground with this president.

After 8 years of Bu$h's fascistic agenda of redistribution of wealth by overtaxing the working class and giving it to the already wealthy... it sounds fair.
-
If you are going to extremes calling Obama's agenda socialist, I can do the same. Power by the elite and the few is called feudist or dictorship. Cutting taxes from the top and overtaxing the bottom 95% indicates ruling of the elite. I say do what is fair. Tax the rich according to the tax law and quit changing the law to favor them. The rest of the people will still pay their fair share. What I'm saying is that George W. Bush messed up the taxing system, so now we're changing it back!
-
Yes - do they really need all this money?
-
Those of Obama's kind will continue the practice until there is no incentive to work or create job-producing enterprises (why bust yourself when govt takes it all...). That once done there will be no morsels of anything to be had except via government handouts paid by printed money, and big govt will have full power over us all. For an example of this having been played out, look up Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe.
-
Im still shocked that people think Obama can make any decisions on his own...He doesnt have the power or authority to do anything....
-
Do you feel it's ok for 1% of the population to control more than 95% of the rest of the people combined? Socialism my ass.
-
I think everyone should be taxed the same rate.
-
Tee-hee...loaded questions amuse me
-
Nothing wrong in taxing the super rich the proper amount and not the pittance they pay now, and before you sprout of about McCains tax plan ..if he gives everyone a tax break then absolutely nothing will change as the poor and middle class will still be over compensating for the rich. All McCains plan will do is maintain the status quo.. so in effect all people will do is tread water in one spot
-
NO. HELL NO. It's been tried before and failed every time. Personal responsibility, individual freedom is the answer. Tens of thousands of Americans have fought to preserve what Obama is trying to destroy. He must be stopped. He is as big a threat to America and what she was founded upon as Adolph Hitler was.
-
It works for me.
-
WOW! He CAN do something right!
-
Who qualifies as "wealthy"?? Who qualifies as "middle class"?? Who qualifies as "poor"?? Destroying wealth through deliberate oppressive taxation solves nothing. The "poor" already receive their share through government handout to multiple family generations who have NEVER held any sort of job. If you think taxes are high now, wait until the millions of illegals from Mexico south start getting their share!
-
Since he has no such agenda I can neither agree nor disagree with it. I do object to people making up "facts" and asking about them though. -5

Over taxing the wealthy? That's rich, no pun intended. The wealthy have been raping this country for decades. It's time they paid the piper or the pauper in this scenario. Not even accurate anyway.
