  • Everyone does not.
  • A lot of people want to do it, especially younger kids, because it's something you're not suppose to do. Just another form of rebellion. But adults may just like the taste or the effect, or in worse case seniero, they got addicted to it
  • I don't. I appreciate good wine and port, but I am scared of not being in control of my thoughts and my body. I suppose I'm weird for someone who's 17.
  • I don't think everyone wants to. There are many people who don't have the desire. They've just never cared about it. There are those who actively don't want to, also. They could have various reasons for this, such as having had bad personal experience with it, or experienced the negative aspects of alcohol through loved ones. Others in this group may also not want to for religious or even health reasons.
  • Because they can't face the futility of their shattered lives? I know, never answer a question with a question.
  • Usually to avoid problems--to be able to forget them for a while Some people do it because they think its cool and because it feels good i honestly think that less teens would drink if it wasn't illegal =
  • I never used to like drinking and hated wine when I was a teenager. Now in my thirties, I long for a nice fresh glass of white wine in the evening after work. It really relaxes me!!
  • I dont drink - NEVER tried and never wanna but thats me...
  • Well...it all starts with being downrated on answerbag... Honestly, hot everyone does want to drink alcohol. (Seriously emotional issues, quality of life, and the relief of the stree from both work and at home are the real causes.)
  • reason people want to drink alcohol is to relax.
  • to be accepted into the crowd
  • I don't really want to drink alcohol. I like the taste of wine, but I can do without it.
  • If I could I would, but I can't so I won't. Well I think just for the taste. It's like drinking pop. Why do you drink pop? Not everybody wants to drink alcohol either.
  • I drink alcoholic beverages by the gallon, I like to relax, party and have a good time on my days off.Plus it's a great stress reliever, from job situations, and helps ease the emotional pain resulting from my recent break up.
  • I don't know about liquor, but I like beer because it is pleasant and relaxing in moderation. A good way to wind out the day and settle down before bedtime. Also a proper beer is natural, made from grain and hops, and a little like bread in liquid form, and who doesn't like bread?
  • That is not a good question. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol. It is appealing to many people because of the nice and interesting effect that it provides. If you drink it enoiugh, you can actually have a craving just for the taste. If is also a social norm. that can make or break realtionships of any kind (if teaches people about you and shows who a part of you is).
  • For me it is a pleasant but legal escape mechanism... when used responsibly and in moderation. Over half a decade in the Navy gave me reason to want an 'out' and plenty of skill in the fine art of power-drinking. However I have an aunt that drank her SECOND liver away and have been a passenger in a single-vehicle DUI. For health reasons I make an effort to limit myself and for safety I NEVER drink if I feel I could possibly be impaired. Kinda pisses the wife off when I tell her I might be more than a little late, but at least I get home ;)
  • It is a taboo substance, and yet it is nice to drink, hence desire for it. There is an attitude of 'the only point in going out is to get drunk' - i disagree but my peers do say this is so. I have never been drunk, and have heard many stories and seen many news articles about drunkenness - it is not good for society. A nice drink with a meal, fine. down the pub chugging them back, not so good.
  • It's a social thing, It temp. resolves your problems until after you wake up the next day with a pounding headache in a jail cell after being arrested for DUI. And noticing you have a tattoo of the name GEORGE on your Back side..... GEORGE was also arrested for public drunkeness and is in the cell with you..... It's Fun!
  • I was never in a rush to drink. I ahd my first actual drink shortly after having turned 18 (the legal age here.). It was in no way to conform to the legal age; I'm not a conformist, ahha. But I just wasn't interested. I've seen too many people waste away drinking, doing drugs... There are substance abuse issues in my family and I would rather not become like that. I was never very tempted or anything. I've never done drugs, I drink occasionally. But I'm not the type to really go too far. I'm just not that interested.
  • Because it taste similar to urine. Which is a very healthy alternitive to water.
  • Too sweeping, I am sure a lot of us do not drink alchohol
  • It miraculously turns me into the worlds best dancer!
  • Not everyone does.
  • Not everyone wants to drink. I drink because I have a good time when I go out with my friends and for some reason it just wouldn't be as much fun if we all sat there drinking orange juice.
  • Because that is what people are taught when you go out in a social setting you drink. You relax and get to know people over a bottle of wine You get upset about something you and your friends get together and talk about it – it’s a learned thing.
  • Personally, I enjoy alcohol because it comes in great flavors, like wonderful, rich wine, and port, and all kinds of great liquors. I also enjoy fine scotch, and the occasional beer. However, I have never personally understood drinking to the point of losing one's control. I don't like to be disoriented and I can't imagine trhowing up while dizzy as a direct result of your own actions. I do enjoy the relaxing effect alcohol has, but still, not to the point of feeling crazy or out of control.
  • People who say the reason others drink is because of their "shattered lives" should die, Personally i drink because i enjoy it not because my life is a reck. i do nothing stressful and still i love drinking
  • Because commercials tell you chicks like guys who drink beer. At the same time commercials say don't smoke pot you will be lazy. It is human nature to want to get f_cked up.
  • They may be addicted to it. I have been 5 years sober and I want a drink almost everyday. What starts out as a fun occasion usually turns into an ongoing addiction.
  • Social drinking is fun and new studies show it can also prolong your life. A glass of wine a day is excellent for a healthy heart!
  • i feeel tht ppl drink bcuz they feel tht evry 1 is doin it soo then they should have to..its not good for u dnt even bother tryin it.seriously
  • the same with any phcoactive substance to alter you conciance for a period of time
