Yes, I once risked smoke inhalation and personal danger to put out a fire in an apartment complex that was started by a small child.

Yes... ... I can think of nothing to add onto this answer. EDIT: Now that I think about it, only if it was someone I cared for or one who didn't deserve to die.

I rescued someone drowning in a lake, if I hadn't taken a raft with me...I would not be here. For any of you without rescue training, who might find yourself in a similar situation; when a person is drowning you can forget "any" rational thinking from them. Their first instinct is to grab onto anything and not let go, that anything just happened to be me. I had to go under to get him, he grabbed on and we both started to go down. Thankfully he was just weak enough from his prior min of struggle that I was able to break free. Took hold of his arm and pulled him to the surface & clutched the raft with my other arm. Even then he, in a complete and total wild panic, just could not comprehend to take hold of the raft and almost pulled me down again. Based on my experience I would suggest to keep as much of yourself as possible away from them and grip with one hand. Tie a flotation device to your ankle if possible or have something else like the raft for assistance.

No, but I risk my sanity on a daily basis!
