Generally rather negatively. The person who goes off and has the affair often does it out of already low self-esteem. Both the other parties, the fling and the partner both end up feeling used and worthless.

well the first answer is very good but i would like to add that i just founf out my boyfriend was cheating on me yesterday...and i feel like crap. I feel like i wasn't good enough or i didn't make him happy enough not pretty enough i feel...violated and dishonored and...disgusting quite honestly. Nothing will ever ever EVER take back what he did and...well im sure thats how other people feel too

I have to agree with HelloHalley, for the cheater...it make weak person or a low self-esteem rise and feel great a total and automatic boost. to the person participating in the cheating, it makes them feel great, sexy, wanted, like one of a kind. until droped like a hot potato..then they feel used. to the person being cheated on, crash of emotions, was I good in bed, was I attentive enough, what he/she got that I don't....and the list goes on.
