  • I was fortunate to visit the Louvre in Paris, one of the best art galleries in the world. I was at awe when I saw the Mona Lisa. The large canvas size was a shock for I thought it was much smaller.I stood there for 20 minutes and could feel the essence of the painting, and what the artist was trying to say.It was if the spirit of the painter was standing by the painting. Now I know why people want to see the originals, for copies are just a pale shadow of the real thing. In fact the whole 'Louvre" was emitting such an energy from all the profound artists, that I will never forget.

  • Yes, I do...It's called the Lady of Shallot and was painted by William Holman Hunt in 1842. It is oil on canvas and measures 74x57.5" It depicts a scene from the famous poem with the same name (Lady of Shallot) by Alfred Lord Tennyson.... "She left the web, she left the loom, She made three paces through the room, She saw the water-lily bloom, She saw the helmet and the plume, She look'd down to Camelot. Out flew the web and floated wide; The mirror crack'd from side to side; 'The curse is come upon me,' cried The Lady of Shalott."
  • The Human Condition by Rene Magritte

  • There is a painting that I have not been able to find the correct name of that is currenty my favorite. It was either called the "Great Alchemist" Or "The Creator" and it is of G-d on a cloud with an ancient compass in his hand and he is bent over measuring something on the earth. The background is black and around him and the cloud are small gold colored rays being emitted. Towards the bottom of the painting, I believe there is a horizon. I don't know who painted it - it was on a postcard I once saw and it has haunted me for decades. Also this one- Passion By John Pitre- you have to see the detail to appreciate it- they are not human - they are statutes being taken apart at the bottom by hooded men(?)
