Why is apple cider brown while sparkling aple cider is clearish yellow?

    because sparkling apple cider has added carbonated or sparkling water mellowing out the brown to a tan or light yellow color

    Apple cider is the natural, color of apple juice that hasn't been super filtered. But sparkling cider isn't pure juice, it has water and carbonation added and that's after it's been filtered to take any particles out of it. Plus, you know when you cut an apple and it turns brown? That's the same as apple cider, oxidizes from the air.

    Apple cider turns brown when it is exposed to air for any length of time. Just like an apple that is cut in half. A fresh off the tree apple has no preservitives. Cider is nothing more than fresh pressed apples. As for clearity, this has everything to do with how it is processed. Apple cider has remenants of pulp, peels, etc. Most sparkling apple drinks have been heavily filtered and preservitives are added to help retain a clear light color. However, it has nothing to do with the fact that it is carbonated. You can carbonate apple cider and it will still remain that brown muddy color unless you filter it. Kind of like orange juice... you can get it with pulp or you can buy it without. Usually Sparkling Cider is marketed like champagne. Therfore they do their best to make it look like champagne.
