  • I try to, yes. Sometimes I slip, but yes, I try to. Here's my view on it - protocol is protocol for a reason. The reason could be manifold. Safety is most often the reason for a particular protocol. Also, protocol is often in place to provide a means of being sure work is completed thoroughly and correctly. There are many other reasons for protocol, but these are the most common. Quite simply put, the people who write protocol don't do it just for the sake of writing rules. Trust me, they don't like coming up with new rules any more than most of us enjoy having new rules to follow. Therefore, when they are forced to come up with a new protocol, it has an important reason for existing - follow it, whether you agree or not. Even if you think it's a waste of time, at the very least, it will keep you out of trouble - and that's worth something.
  • no..not always.
  • Not since I am no longer part of the world of business. now I shoot from the hip at random and hope things work out.
  • Protocol is a word used, among other things, for diplomacy and also for following a specific roadmap when you are ill and you are hoping to get well. I know nothing about diplomacy..but in the medical arena, I follow protocol to a T. It would be extremely foolish not to. Each specific protocol is set up to give the patient the best odds of overcoming whatever the medical problem is. Flaunting that is counterproductive! :)
  • What's protocol
