What is the difference between being 'ill' and being 'sick', referring to a disease? How do you use these words?

Good question. I think I would use ill when referring to a serious illness, perhaps even life-threatening. I would use the word sick to describe smaller illnesses such as a stomach virus or a cold. I hope this makes sense. :)

i think ill is a straight dr word when i dont feel good im sick ill to me just sounds stupid even if its cancer or aids which i dont have wont ever have aids but probably will have cancer it runs in the family
