  • It depends on the quality settings, but on a medium setting then normally just under 2mb. If you want to know to work out something to do with memory cards then this might help: 128mb card = roughly 68 photos 256mb card = roughly 136 photos 512mb card = roughly 272 photos 1gb card = roughly 544 photos 2gb card = roughly 1088 photos
  • That depends on whether the picture is uncompressed or compressed. Then it depends on the picture file format. It also depends on the level of compression. An uncompressed TIFF file from a 6MP camera can be as big as 32MB (in 16 bit mode), whereas a lightly compressed (high quality) JPG of the same picture would come in around 3MB. You could get even smaller if you chose more compression (less quality).
