Just leave him in it until he decides to change his mind.

Give him the 'Everybody Poops'-book, or else leave him till he have found out that its a good idea to do it in the toilet instead of his pants

hello, ive heard that its harder to train a boy than a girl,if you notice him hiding under a table or behing a couch ,thats the time to just take him into the bathroom and put him on the potty, hes giving you signals that hes going to poop.the trick is to get im before he soils his pants.

We have had same problem. I gave up and just put diapers on him until he decided to go. It got so bad, he would smear it all over the place, eat it, play in it like playdo. He was using it to get attention and to gain control over "something" He was jeliise of baby sister. She only 2 half is potty train before him. He is 5 now and quite the poop messing. :)

That is a common problem. Tincture of time and patience will cure it. One day he'll just figure it out. Then you'll be on to the next issue.

He might be afraid he's going to fall in the toilet. Maybe you could offhandedly suggest that he sit on the side of the seat, even put his feet on the bathtub (if possible). I did that as a kid, I was afraid I'd fall in the other way.

My 4 year old daughter's gone in her pants a couple times lately. We had a talk about how it doesn't feel good to sit around in it, and I offered her diapers if she didn't want to go in the potty, so she could go in the diaper and just sit around in it. She opted to stick with the potty option. Do you have a child-sized potty for him? To get her going, we used stickers, bribery and her very own potty. And we took her shopping for special new underpants that she got to wear when she pooped in the potty. Good luck. He'll decide to cooperate with it before too long.

i had the same problem with my son, i used bribery i know some parents wouldent but it worked for me, i taped up a couple movies to the bathroom wall and when he went in the potty he got to pull a new movie down to watch

You could call him stinkpot but it's better to try and find out why he doesn't want to use the toilet? Could you get him a special step and a small seat to fit over the big one? He might also prefer to use a potty chair for the time being. If he starts making smells, that's a good sign he needs to go even if he says he doesn't need to; also if he hides in corners.

maybe your son is contipated, and it hurts for him to let go so he holds it in til you put a diaper on him.check what hes eating.if you catch him squatting behind a chair or under a table thats a sign, geyt him out from where he is and take him to the bathroom.
