He'd know if you went to have sex... kind of hard not to. I'd be honest if the subject comes up. I wouldn't say it like a bad thing though. At 40 it doesn't really matter. He might even be happy of the fact.

Unless you have a pretty vivid imigination and have worked yourself out pretty well I imagine he would know. This this a pretty major moment for you-if you don't feel comfortable enough with him to tell him maybe the signs aren't right.

He would not be able to tell for sure if you were a virgin , but your nervousness and awkwardness, may indicate to him something and that would probably be what he would think of. If you do not feel comfortable telling him this then maybe you should reconsider having sex with him as it doesn't sound like your relationship is there yet.

Any man who would think of you as silly and immature for still being a virgin at your age is not worthy of your time. Be honest with him and if he feels that way when you tell him then you know he's not the right one for you.

Respecting you for respecting yourself is something you have a right to expect from a boyfriend. If he doesn't, you can do better. Having sex just to get it over with is what is silly. Having sex when you don't want to just because you think you are supposed to is what is silly. Be honest with him, and don't worry about it.
