When something is touted as an "Age-old Recipe" or "Age-old Tradition", how long are we talkin' here? What exactly constitutes "Age-old"?

I think it's a non-descriptive descriptive. It's like when someone says something or someone is "Nice". What the Hell does that mean?

I'd say whatever age an "antique" designation covers would cover age-old...maybe 100 years. Now, I think "classic" when it comes to cars is 30-40 years old. Or maybe it is all relative, local and simply a generation or two older than the person calling it "age-old"! :)

I say between 50-75 years.
