What is the loophole to hacking, like a way to get out of trouble for hacking a game?

So far as I know you can't really get in a lot of trouble for hacking games for personal use. The difficulty is when you, for example, distribute discs with a cracked game on them. Especially if you are selling them. I could be very very wrong, but I've certainly never heard of anyone getting in trouble for playing a game they didn't buy... (+2)

Perhaps if you show them how you did it and provide a patch to make it impossible in the future. The difference between a hacker and an IT tech is intention.

ok, well im trying to get into a beta for this hack... but the guy will only release it to the people that find the loophole for all hacks. He said google would be my best friend but i srched google for like an hour....and found absolutely nothing, that is why im asking
