  • U.S. Navy Iowa-class. USS Missouri ("Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo") is an example. Big Mo was the site of the surrender ceremony for the unconditional surrender of Japan at the end of WWII. She saw action during the Korean War, decommissioned on 26 February 1955, and recommissioned on 10 May 1986. She saw action during the Gulf War in 1991 launching Tomahawk cruise missiles and firing her 16 inch guns at land targets during the war.
